Consistently Persisting

Woody was one of the worst football players we ever had try out for our team! He was a modern-day Rudy. This man had very little athletic ability, was slow and uncoordinated, but Woody did one thing better than anyone I’ve ever met.  He was Consistently Persisting!

Woody was on our team for 5 years and for the first 4 years, he did not play unless the game was a blowout. He never missed a practice, worked out all year long, showed up early, and stayed late every day.  Woody struggled to do what everyone else was able to do without trying.

I look back and marvel at his attitude. He was always excited to be there, to be a part of a team, and worked his butt off every day even though he rarely played.

Babe Ruth said, “it’s really hard to beat a man who does not quit.” I think Babe was talking about Woody!

Consistently Persisting

To be Consistently Persisting means to do a little bit every day without EVER stopping. Woody had many reasons he could have quit, and no one would have blamed him for it. He never gave up, never made excuses, and never blamed anyone for his lack of ability.

You might be in a similar position with your job, goals or life’s demands. They seem too much and too big for your current skills and abilities.

Take some advice from my friend Woody: Consistently Persisting focus on one step at a time each day. Nothing more than the next step matters.

It might take some time to reach your goals or to succeed in your business, but if you will Consistently Persist, you will win.

The best part of this is that it will not depend on skill, nationality, how tall you are or how much money you have. Being Consistent and Persistent is a decision you make.

Talent does not stand a chance when faced with an individual who will not quit!

Do what Woody did every day and I will tell you your future…YOU WIN!
